A little over a week ago I found a very cool GIS podcast called MapScaping run by Daniel O’Donohue. And in my humble opinion it’s well worth a listen, irrspective if you are new to GIS or like me been in the game for over half my life.

Normally my podcast listening consists of ‘You’re Dead to me’, ‘No Such Thing As a Fish’ or ‘Desert Island Discs’, and listening is dependant on having some time to myself to actually list! But a few weeks ago I decided to go searching for GIS podcasts, and came across this little gem while going for a nice long walk (by myself).

The podcast has been running since 2019, and at the time of writing there are just over 190 episodes. I’ve now listened to a few shows, and its content doesn’t disappoint. In fact it’s taught me things and opened my eyes to seeing Geo a bit differently.

Daniel has some great guests in, all talking about GIS beyond Points, Lines and Polygons. The content is diverse and the speakers come from all walks of GIS life.

As I progress through the episodes I can already see that they are going to spark something within me to put fingers to keyboard and writing my thoughts on the subject.
